One of the Best Defensive Bases for TH 18 with Bomb Hive

2026 can easily be called the year of strategic base layouts for the Home Village in Clash of Clans. Enough time has passed since Town Hall 18 was released, but strong layouts are still being created. Some attack strategies continue to work well against almost any base. Dragons are still capable of destroying a huge number of villages, so the main focus here is countering classic attacks and finding truly effective defenses.

This time, the base looks fairly classic: the perimeter is surrounded by resource buildings mixed with defensive structures. The main focus is, of course, on the Town Hall, which provides the core defense. It is surrounded by as many traps as possible, with a strong emphasis on air defense, as the goal is to protect against air attacks and annoying dragons.

Some buildings are placed symmetrically. This allows the Archer Queen to take down two Air Defenses, but after that the attack usually starts to fall apart, as surviving becomes much harder. Clearing the other side of the base is also difficult due to an exposed Inferno Tower. If the second hero is deployed near the remaining two Air Defenses, destroying them becomes extremely problematic because of the heavy concentration of defensive structures.

At first glance, this is a fairly simple layout with gaps that allow you to deploy an extra unit and lure out the Clan Castle — and that’s exactly where its strength lies. Once the reinforcements are pulled, dealing with them is not easy. Below, we’ll point out what troops should be requested for this base. The attack can easily go off-script, giving us extra stars and, ultimately, the win.
